TOE CAPS
A toe cap is a piece of material that covers the end of a shoe or boot to protect or strengthen it. Toe caps are used to prevent injury to the toes from falling objects. They were originally made from steel, but are now commonly made from thermoplastic polyurethane, which is a bio-degradable product.
